Vanrie, Philippe, Managing Director, European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) (Brussels, Belgium)
Philippe Vanrie is an engineer, born in 1960 in Belgium, who started his career at the University of Brussels (ULB) and then joined the first European EC-BIC in Liège (Socran). Afterwards, he joined the private sector where he had senior Marketing and Business Development responsibilities within several SMEs leaders of their market, notably in Agro and Food Industry.
Philippe Vanrie joined EBN in 1992 and became responsible for technical assistance to the EC-BIC programme. He worked closely with the European Commission and directly for more than 50 BICs, Incubators and other Business Support Centres. Philippe also initiated and conducted pilot-schemes in the field of academic and industrial spin-off, clustering, business cooperation, local development and technology transfer. He is currently EBN Managing Director since the summer 1999. He is committed to make sure the performance, the pertinence, the efficiency, the positioning, the impact and the reputation of EBN Network Members are of the highest standards.
EBN is a pan-European non-governmental network composed of more than 200 Business and Innovation Centres (BICs) in more than 30 European countries. BICs promote innovation and economic development through job and enterprise creation and development.
