Mayor of Montréal

As mayor of the province of Quebec's major city since November 2001, he uses the experience he has acquired to serve his community. His goal is to build a city in which citizens are at the heart of the concerns of his administration. He also demonstrated his leadership ability by laying the foundation for the new city. During his mandate he also designed and advanced Quebec's economic development strategy based on the industry cluster concept. In addition to these accomplishments, he provided Montrealers with a long-term vision of the city through: Imagining and Building Montréal 2025 - A World of Creativity and Opportunities, which was the fruit of the 2002 Montréal Summit and the ensuing action plans.

Senior Director, Pro-Cluster Kobe, Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation (FBRI) (Kobe, Japan)

FBRI was established in 2000 in the city of Kobe (Japan) as the central organization managing the Kobe Medical Industry Development Project. The FBRI processes and supports clinical research and trials to promote innovations in advanced medical technologies. It also works to coordinate academics, industry and local or central government to establish a life sciences cluster in Kobe and in the Kansai area.
